Feb. 11Rideau Canal Museum presents, "Chocolates, Wines & Valentines" on Saturday, February 11th, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. (an exclusive Wine Tasting Event).
Feb. 24Rideau Canal Museum presents, "Life Along the Rideau" music series, with pianist Michael Costello of Carleton Place, is to perform Friday, February 24th, at 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 25Royal Canadian Legion Br.95 presents, "The Neil Diamond Tribute Show."
MARCH
March 4Species at Risk The Rideau Environmental Action League conducts community-wide environmental projects and promotes environmental improvements within the Town of Smiths Falls and Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Counties. Lectures begin at 7:00pm, are approximately one hour, and are held in the auditorium of the Rideau Canal Museum.
March 21Good Friday Procession Event: Good Friday Procession Date: March 21, 2008 Time: 12:00 Noon Route: Starts in front of St. Francis de Sales Church, proceeding along Elmsley Street to Russell Street; Proceeds west on Russell Street one block, north on Market Street, stopping in front of Trinity United Church; Proceeds north on Market Street, west on Church St. Enters Beckwith Street (east lane), stopping in front of First Baptist Church and facing Westminister Presbyterian Church; Proceeds south on Beckwith Street to William St. West Proceeds west on William Street W, about 50 metres stopping at the Salvation Army Thrift Store; Proceeds west on William Street W to Maple Avenue; Proceeds south on Maple Avenue to Main Street W; Then proceeds west on Main Street to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church.
March 27The Canadian Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Days, where volunteers take to the streets to sell the bright, cheerful buds. Purchasing daffodils helps the Canadian Cancer Society do more. You get to enjoy a little taste of spring and feel good by knowing that your efforts are helping us to help many. $6 a bunch or 2 bunches for $10.

June 13Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life Friday, June 13, 2008 - Saturday, June 14, 2008 7:00pm - 7:00am Location: Lombardy Fairgrounds

The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to get together with family and friends and celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease. Walk with us in this inspirational 12-hour overnight event as we come together and fight to make cancer history.

July 5"Rumours & Whispers", The Many Tales of the Heritage House Museum Saturday, July 5, 2008 - Tuesday, December 23, 2008 10:30am - 4:30pm Location: Heritage House Museum

Heritage House Museum opened its' doors to the public on June 13th, 1981. For the last 27 years this house has been serving the Town of Smiths Falls as a community museum, sharing the history of this area with locals and tourists alike. The history of this house began long before 1981. Take a moment and explore this exhibit, as it looks at the history of the house, the man who built it, the people who lived in it, those who rescued it and the whispered stories that make it out of the ordinary. Exhibition, Open Daily 10:30 a.m. ¨C 4:30 p.m.
July 18Chocolate and Railway Festival Friday, July 18, 2008 - Sunday, July 20, 2008 Location: Centennial Park

The biggest event in Town every year! 3 fun-filled days of family activities take place all around Town, with the main site located on the banks of the Rideau Canal in Centennial Park. Music, chocolate, trains, museums, native village, kiddies rides, vendors, displays, Soap Box Derby, and much more.......

September 13Pickle Fest Saturday, September 13, 2008 Location: Centennial Park, Under the Water Tower

The Smiths Falls Lions Club is sponsoring its Pickle Festival in Smiths Falls. The event is located at the watertower in Centennial Park beside the Rideau Canal. Activities and events will include pickle sales, pickle demonstrations and sampling as well as a farmers market, wine tasting and entertainers. Food will be available during the day and a sidewalk sale will be held downtown.
